We long to see Harlem transformed by the gospel of Jesus, igniting a movement that shapes our city and extends around the world.
We seek to make disciples, foster their growth in faith, and equip them to spread the gospel worldwide.
We uphold the Holy Bible as the inspired and authoritative Word of God, the ultimate guide and final authority in all matters of faith and doctrine.

Harlem Community Church is more than a church. It’s a story of faith, love, and transformation rooted in one of NYC’s most vibrant neighborhoods. From a calling placed on our hearts in 2019 to the incredible journey of planting a church in Harlem, God’s hand has guided every step. We’ve embraced the rich history of this community and the challenges it faces, with a mission to bring hope, restoration, and unity in Christ. Join us in learning more about how our story began and how it continues to unfold, bringing light and love to Harlem.
On September 8, 2024, Harlem Community Church officially launched, marking the beginning of a new chapter in God’s unfolding story for the neighborhood. This moment was made even more meaningful by its location—a building steeped in history and purpose. The church found its home in the 135th Street YMCA, a structure built in 1918-19 as one of the first African-American YMCA buildings in New York City. This iconic site once served as a vital hub for intellectual, social, and cultural life during the Harlem Renaissance, offering a space where African Americans could gather, grow, and thrive in a time of profound change and challenges.
